Meet the Team
Bart Halsberghe
Bart Halsberghe is a double board-certified equine specialist (Dipl. ECVSMR, Equine; Dipl. ABVP, Equine Practice) with a focus on Equine Integrated Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (Cert. ISELP, cVMA, cVSMT, CERT) of which Podiatry is one of the cornerstones. Bart has over 20 years in-depth international experience covering all major equine disciplines and is founder of Global Equine Veterinary Consulting Ltd. providing world-wide veterinary related services.
Bart lives in Aalter, Belgium but spends about one third of his time in the US.
Eric Nielsen
Eric has held a lifelong interest and passion for the care of all animals, with a special fondness for horses and dogs. After a business career in the heavy horsepower world of construction, mining and marine equipment, since 2019 he has focused on equine hoof care as part of a holistic approach to better horse health.
Applying his bio-mechanical engineering background together with his industrial metal fabricating knowledge, he has been a proud member of the Bartek Equine team and key contributor to the development of the split-shoe approach to hoof care and the Twin Shoe product line.
Eric enjoys the four-season lifestyle that southern Wisconsin provides. When not working with horse owners, farriers, vets, and trainers he enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle with his family, friends, and chocolate lab “Moose” (a 110 lb. lap dog).
Eric lives in Burlington, Wisconsin, US.
Bart Decroos
Bart Decroos brings many years of international experience, having worked across different roles and cultures around the world. At Bartek Equine, he focuses on building relationships and supporting our work in Latin America, Oceania, the Middle East, and Africa.
Based in Bruges, Belgium, Bart spends much of his time traveling, staying closely connected to horses, partners, and teams across the regions we serve.
